The movie’s plot is very simple. The boy Ali lost his sister Zahra’s shoes when he helps her to mend the shoes. In order not to be punished by their parent, they decide that alternately to wear a pair of shoes to go to school. Simultaneity, Ail promises to buy a new pair of shoes for Zahra.
Ali would expect with his father works in the town and earning money to help Zahra buy a new pair of shoes, but the father’s unexpected injury broken his dream. Just at that time, school was selecting runners for the long-distance race. The third winner will reward a pair of sneakers. In race, Ali constantly reminds himself that he must to be the third winner. Ail done as better as possible and finally Ali got champion, it seems like a matter of pride, however Ali was crying sadly because all he wants is the shoes. The film last father finally bought two shoes for the children. The upshot makes me more heartache than glad.
Ali is running for a pair of shoes, is running for a better life. Blame can make he eyes full of tears. But he can be also excited for a new pen, several sweets or compliment, they can be made smile on the way. This is a children’s world, even happiness and sorrow are exquisite and pure. However, the child is doomed to run for lives, even if tired, even if fall, he should never give up. Even though at last the father bought the new shoes for them, but so what? They face with so big poverty that cannot handle. Sometimes people's strength are really too weak, it seems that even have a decent dream is unpractical.
The whole story is about children, but the director gradually showed us a kind of shining humanity. That is a natural gentle emotion. It has nothing to do with ethics and regulations. You may laugh at Ali exhaustedly running for a pair of shoes. But have you ever wholly devoted into a run, for your “lost shoes”? Will you consider whether it is value to do so or complain about how unfortunate you are? The children don’t. They just hold their faith and run. Clarity and simplicity, maybe that is heaven.
